Tomato, Apple & Orange Dip
Ok so here is the thing. Tata had a group of friends which my grandpa baptized as “Las Viejas”. They got together every single Tuesday to play cards. The deal was that every week one of them should be the host and everyone else must bring the food. Thank God this happened because now I have a LOT of delicious party foods! Let’s start with this simple dip made with tomatoes, apples, and oranges.
The first thing you have to do is stir-fry the onions until they become translucent and set aside.
Mix the sugar, vinegar, ginger, orange zest, orange juice, and apples in a pan and let boil at low heat for around 5 minutes. Then, add the sir-fried onions and cook until there is no more liquid, but be careful though, it shouldn’t end up dry.
I prefer to serve with 2 inch sliced french baguette, but this dip will go with about anything. I’ll leave it to your imagination 😉
