Hello everyone! I’m writing from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, capital of the Canary Islands, Spain. I’m closer to Africa than to Spain though, the nearest point of mainland Spain is about 1,300 kilometres (810 mi). I arrived to the airport and went straight to my best friend’s @marianallorens restaurant. I hadn’t seen her for almost a year and I was so excited to catch up with her. After many hugs and kisses, it was time to enjoy my first Spanish meal. She served me what I think is now my favorite coffe, a Barraquito. It’s coffee served in a transparent glass (taller than that in which café cortado served) and includes a shot of coffee, hot milk, condensed milk, cinnamon, lemon zest and 43 or Tía María liquor. OMG I can’t explain how much I enjoyed this coffee! I asked for a second one and wanted a third but my heart started beating reeeaaally fast so I decided to leave the third one for tomorrow.
Pour condensed milk to a tall glass. Add liquor and fill in the glass with the hot fluffy milk. Pour the shot of espresso looking out not to mix the levels. Add lemon and optionally orange zest. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
